WERNER Yacht design had various recent designs on display. One
of the designs that attracted a good deal of interest was their
proposal for a refit for a large 55 mtr. Danish salvage vessel.
Werner was contracted to restyle the vessel and turn it into a
private yacht. They decided to apply a styling that was common
on the powerful Dutch super tugs that roamed the oceans in the
1970's. Carefully balancing between expanding the interior
space, allowing more day light into the interior and applying a
typical classic tug boat appearance they combined the best of
both worlds; super yacht comfort and hansom tugboat lines. Not
an easy task, but on the Monaco Yacht Show, it became quite
apparent that they succeeded. The proposal attracted the
attention of many. And although the vessel had been changed
beyond recognition, there was not a single person who could
point out the changes, without seeing the original plans. Once
confronted with the originals, they were amazed to see how a lot
of relative simple changes could turn the ugly duckling into a
swan. Therefore one can only draw the conclusion that the ideas
for the refit have been coherent, combining today’s comfort with
classic lines.
